The American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) has announced that their latest guideline, “AGA Clinical Practice Guideline on Computer-Aided-Detection Assisted Colonoscopy” is now open for public comment. This groundbreaking guideline represents AGA’s first comprehensive evaluation of the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in gastrointestinal care.
This guideline’s intent is to assist healthcare practitioners by offering a detailed analysis of the evidence and providing guidance to endoscopists and patients on the utilization of computer-aided detection (CADe) systems for the detection of colorectal polyps during colonoscopy. The final version of this guideline is scheduled for publication in March 2025.
As part of AGA’s development process, they invite reviews and feedback from the public. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their comments here by October 28, 2024. Your input is essential in shaping the future of gastrointestinal care.
