In this installment of our Guidelines International Series, we delve into the rich history of the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD), a venerable society established in 1919 by Sir Archibald Gray, then Editor of the British Journal of Dermatology. The BAD’s guiding principle, ‘healthy skin for all’, remains the cornerstone of their mission, although it may not fully encapsulate all their core values.

BAD is renowned for its production of a wide array of clinical guidelines, all of which are readily accessible in the British Journal of Dermatology. In this edition, we highlight the BAD Guidelines from the past seven years. The guidelines offer valuable insights into the latest advancements in dermatological treatment and management.
