The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released the latest draft of the Recommendations for HIV Screening in Clinical Settings for public comment. This guideline aims to aid healthcare providers in diagnosing and connecting patients with undiagnosed HIV to clinical care, reestablishing individuals with previously diagnosed HIV in care, detecting HIV infection earlier, and reducing HIV transmission in the United States.

This updated document expands upon the CDC’s previous guideline from 2006, titled Revised Recommendations for HIV Testing of Adults, Adolescents, and Pregnant Women in Health Care Settings

As part of the development process, the CDC welcomes reviews and feedback from the public. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their comments here by January 2, 2025. Your valuable input will play an important role in shaping the future of HIV Screening.
