Role of gestational age at time of placental laser surgery in outcomes of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome

  • Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • May 2024
  • The aim of this study is to analyze the survival rates and other related morbidities following fetal laser photocoagulation (FLP) at different gestational ages. The findings indicate that FLP performed at earlier gestational ages is linked to decreased overall survival rates. This is primarily due to the increased risk of donor intrauterine fetal demise (IUFD), rather than differences in preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) or preterm delivery (PTD).

Impact of low-dose aspirin exposure on obstetrical outcomes: a meta-analysis

  • Journal of Psychosomatic Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • May 2024
  • The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of low-dose aspirin (LDA) on obstetrical outcomes by conducting a meta-analysis of placebo-controlled randomized controlled trials (RCTs). The results of the analysis indicate that LDA has a significant positive impact on neonatal outcomes in pregnant women who are at high risk of developing preeclampsia (PE), without increasing the risk of placental abruption.

Long-term follow-up of efficacy and safety of selinexor maintenance treatment in patients with TP53wt advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer: A subgroup analysis of the ENGOT-EN5/GOG-3055/SIENDO study

  • Gynecologic Oncology
  • June 2024
  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the extended efficacy and safety of selinexor maintenance therapy in adults with TP53 wild-type (TP53wt) stage IV or recurrent endometrial cancer (EC) who have attained partial remission (PR) or complete remission (CR) following chemotherapy. The results of this study indicate that selinexor maintenance therapy shows a favorable efficacy signal and is well-tolerated in the targeted subgroup of patients with TP53wt EC who have achieved a PR or CR post-chemotherapy.

The association between uterine fibroid number and size and risk of preterm birth

  • American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, MFM
  • June 2024
  • The relationship between uterine fibroids and preterm birth is well-established, however, there is limited data on whether specific characteristics of fibroids, such as number and size, can influence this risk. Findings from this extensive cohort indicate that the number and size of fibroids are indeed linked to preterm birth and can affect the severity of the condition. A higher number and larger size of fibroids are associated with an increased risk of earlier preterm birth compared to individuals without fibroids.
